Russian military conducts heavy overnight strike on Ukrainian military airfield, energy infrastructure
According to Moscow, the strike successfully hit all intended targets, though the exact locations were not disclosed. Additionally, the ministry reported the destruction of several drone manufacturing workshops and ammunition depots across Ukraine.
Ukraine confirmed a significant Russian attack on energy infrastructure in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region. Ukrainian forces estimated that Russia deployed nearly 300 kamikaze drones and eight missiles during the assault.
This strike follows a recent series of Russian attacks targeting Ukrainian military facilities, which Moscow claims are retaliatory measures against increased Ukrainian cross-border drone strikes. Russian officials accuse Kiev of trying to sabotage ongoing peace negotiations through these escalations.
Earlier this week, Russia reported a similar combined strike on military-industrial targets in the Kiev Region and the Ukrainian-controlled area of Zaporozhye Region.
