Russia hits targets in Kiev Region
“All intended targets were successfully destroyed,” the ministry stated on Telegram.
Residents of Kiev told local media the strikes appeared to target drone production sites. Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials reported civilian casualties, claiming at least six people were killed and over 20 injured in the capital and nearby areas. It remains unclear whether the casualties resulted from direct hits or falling debris from intercepted missiles and drones.
Moscow reiterated that its operations exclusively target military-related sites and denies deliberately striking civilian infrastructure.
In its broader report, the Russian Defense Ministry also noted strikes on Ukrainian ammunition depots, drone training centers, and locations housing troops and foreign fighters across 137 areas.
Russia has recently intensified its efforts to dismantle Ukraine’s drone capabilities, citing Kiev’s escalating UAV attacks inside Russian territory as attempts to sabotage ongoing peace efforts.
