German DM claims troops prepared to murder Russians

(MENAFN) German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has indicated that German soldiers are ready to kill Russian forces if Moscow were to attack a NATO ally. In a Financial Times interview published Sunday, Pistorius emphasized that German troops, some recently stationed in Lithuania, would not hesitate to use deadly force if necessary.

“If deterrence fails and Russia launches an attack, will it happen? Yes,” Pistorius stated. He encouraged people to speak with German brigade representatives in Vilnius to understand their readiness and mission.

The minister also stressed that peace and détente are only possible on equal footing and from a position of strength. “This is not about intimidation but about showing that we know our capabilities — we seek peace but will not appear weak or fail to defend ourselves,” he added.

Moscow has repeatedly rejected claims that it intends to attack NATO, calling such suggestions “nonsense.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Western leaders of fearmongering to justify raising NATO defense budgets to 5% of GDP. Peskov also criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz for aggressively pushing confrontation with Russia and rallying Europe.

Meanwhile, German authorities are considering reinstating some form of military conscription to bolster the armed forces if voluntary enlistment falls short.
