Pakistan Reports at Least 111 Fatalities Due to Floods
In the past 48 hours alone, rain-related incidents have caused seven deaths and injured 12 others, the NDMA's most recent update revealed.
The highest death toll was reported in eastern Punjab with 40 fatalities, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northwest at 37 deaths. Sindh province in the south accounted for 17 casualties, while Balochistan in the southwest reported 16. Additionally, one fatality occurred in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. No deaths were recorded in the northern region of Gilgit-Baltistan or the Islamabad Capital Territory, the NDMA stated.
Officials have warned of continued heavy rainfall in the coming days, urging people—especially those living in flood-prone and low-lying areas—to remain vigilant and take necessary safety precautions. Emergency rescue and relief efforts are ongoing in the most severely impacted zones.
