Demolition Site Collapses in Japan, Injuring Four

(MENAFN) Four people sustained injuries on Tuesday after a two-story commercial building undergoing demolition suddenly collapsed in Japan’s southwestern Fukuoka Prefecture, according to media.

The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. local time in a residential district of Kurume City. A passerby alerted emergency services after witnessing the structure cave in, reporting that several individuals appeared to be trapped beneath the debris, media reported, citing local officials.

Among the injured were three demolition workers and one pedestrian, authorities confirmed.

Police said that two of the workers—one in his 40s and another in his 20s—were found unconscious following the collapse.

At the time of the accident, six workers had been present at the site.
