Trump Expresses Confusion Over Epstein Case Interest
During comments made to the press after a public appearance in Pennsylvania, Trump remarked, “I don’t understand it, why they would be so interested. He’s been dead for a long time. He was never a big factor in terms of life.” He added that “the credible information has been given,” emphasizing his bafflement over the ongoing attention.
Continuing his remarks, Trump reiterated his disbelief about the sustained fascination with the Epstein investigation. “I don’t understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody,” he said. “It’s pretty boring stuff. It’s sordid, but it’s boring.”
He went further, stating that only “pretty bad people,” including members of the fake news media, want to keep the issue alive in the public eye.
Trump’s comments were made amid growing frustration among his supporters, many of whom have criticized how the current administration is handling materials connected to Epstein.
The late financier, who was wealthy and convicted of child sex crimes, had associations with influential individuals in both the political and corporate worlds.
He was arrested on sex trafficking allegations and died in 2019 while awaiting trial.
Some of the anger from Trump’s base has also been directed at Attorney General Pam Bondi. She previously hinted that Epstein-related records were on her desk, but later walked back those comments, denying the existence of any Epstein “client list.”
Despite this, Trump came to her defense during his appearance at the White House, stating that she “has handled that very well.”
