Kremlin to Send Holiday Greetings to Trump
"As polite people, we will send Mr. Trump our congratulations on Christmas and the New Year," stated Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov while speaking to reporters.
His remarks followed earlier comments from Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who noted that a decision on whether President Vladimir Putin himself would send greetings would be disclosed later.
During his exchange with journalists, Ushakov emphasized that Moscow expects all participants in the ongoing Ukraine peace negotiations — including the US — to honor commitments made in earlier discussions, such as the August Alaska summit between Trump and Putin.
He made these observations in response to questions about Russia’s expectations for upcoming talks with the US in Miami, Florida, aimed at advancing progress toward a resolution in Ukraine.
Separately, Russian aide Kirill Dmitriev, who confirmed his trip to Miami on Saturday, told Russian media that his meetings with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law and informal adviser Jared Kushner were proceeding positively and would continue through the weekend.
