Car explosion hits Syria with, causing no casualties, injuries

(MENAFN) An explosion shook western Damascus on Saturday night after a car bomb went off near the Golden Mezzeh Hotel along the Mezzeh highway, according to local media.

Officials confirmed that the blast caused no injuries or damage. Damascus police chief Osama Mohammad Khair Atkeh stated that the device had been hidden inside an old Austin vehicle that had remained parked in the area for an extended period.

State television reported that emergency teams quickly arrived on site, while specialized units inspected the area to secure it and prevent further threats. The incident initially caused alarm among nearby residents, but authorities emphasized that the situation was under control.
