The agreement was reached during discussions between Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who visited Vietnam to attend the third ASEAN Future Forum, Vietnamese news agency reported.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and advancing broader bilateral relations through closer coordination at multiple levels.
The leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining regular high-level exchanges and boosting cooperation in defense and security, while also expanding cultural and people-to-people links. They further pledged to strengthen existing bilateral mechanisms and improve coordination on regional and international issues.
Economic cooperation was a key focus of the talks, with Thailand expressing support for Vietnam’s “Three Connects” strategy aimed at enhancing integration between supply chains, businesses, and localities to drive long-term growth and connectivity between the two economies.
